Very friendly and a very interesting mix of offering from music, western and model trains. Definitely a stop in the area if you like these things.

A little bit of everything in a smallish space. I went into the store for a shoulder rest for my violin 🎻. I found it plus an assortment of strings for violin, viola, guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, bass - both upright and guitar. They even had mountain dulcimer strings! I prefer brick and mortar shops to buying over the internet, so this place is now on my list. They even had a small selection of parts -- nor extensive, but a starting point if you need to attempt a repair.

Was looking for a decent beginner guitar for an Xmas gift, and the staff were very good about showing me several nice instruments, and playing them, so I could hear the difference in tone, and see the features each piece had. They even told me about sending the guitar to have it set up properly. When I picked it up, it was beautifully polished, and the action was easy as could be. Learning shouldn't be too painful! Excellent people here. Highly recommended!

Considering this is the absolute only music store in Altoona, PA I couldn't give it less of a rating because they do try. I do like the fact that they offer a variety of Orange and BOSS as far as amps and effects are concerned and I am not a huge fan of the line of Schecters sold there. They also have a contract with Fender and Dean. As far as price is concerned I'm going to say it's $$ out of $$$$$. Things are reasonably priced but often times when I go in there the parts I am in need of are often not in stock. They also have a repair shop for amps and guitars and have a guy that comes in every week or two weeks to pick up work orders and materials, proceeds to repair the item(s) then promptly return them to the store. I believe his labor price/hour is between $30-$50/hour. Check it out! All and all, not a bad shop! Happy shopping!

Good little hometown vibe music store. Staff is kind and very helpful. Some items seem a little over priced, compared to reverb and such, but other than that, its a great. Independently owned music store, definitely not run of the mill, also... the guitar tech is amazing, helpful, and very knowledgeable in his expertise from Luther work, to setups, he's a beast.
